Types of Biomass

The types of bio waste that can be used to generate biogas for electricity generation or heating are: Solid / Liquid Biowaste like: Mother Liquor, Biosludge, Effluentwater, Fruit processing waste , Pressmud, Cow Dung, Agricultural waste etc.

Energy need calculation

Energy conversion and replacements: 2 m3 /Day biogas plant could replace, in a month, fuel equivalent of 25 kg of LPG (nearly two standard cylinders), or 33 litres of kerosene, or 88 kg of
charcoal, or 210 kg of fuelwood, or 740 kg of animal dung.
Animal Munure:Animal manure, mostly slurry, is transported from farms to the biogas plant in vehicles owned by the biogas plant. In the biogas plant, manure and organic waste are mixed and digested in anaerobic digestion tanks for 12 - 25 days. From the digestion process biogas emerges which is cleaned and normally utilised in combined heat and power production plants. Heat is usually distributed in district heating systems and electricity sold to the power grid.
Agricultural waste: Biogas inputs (known as feedstock) come from a wide variety of organic sources. Farm crops (known as biomass) are a common feedstock; they are either crops traditionally grown for food (such as maize and corn) or crops specifically developed for energy purposes.mercial operators (e.g. food processing factories, restaurants and retailers) or from domestic households.
